What devices can I use?

Camerito is designed for use on smartphones, tablets, and computers. Here's the compatibility guide:

 

Supported Platforms

  • Smartphones & Tablets: Available for iOS / iPadOS and Android. Check the app’s page on the App Store or Google Play Store for specific version compatibility.
  • Computers (Laptop/Desktop): Accessible through a web app, supporting all modern web browsers like Chrome, MS Edge, Safari, and Opera.
    • For optimal performance, we recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome.
    • ⚠️ Note: Mozilla Firefox can be used as a Viewer but not as a Camera due to video encoding compatibility.
    • ✉️ Feel free to let us know if you wish to add support for another browser.

 

Requirements

  • Camera Devices: Devices intended to be used as a Camera need at least one functioning camera and microphone.
  • Internet: A stable internet connection is required for all devices.

 

💡 Other Important Info

  • External Cameras: External hardware cameras and IP cameras are not supported. External webcams attached to computers can be used.
  • Cross-platform: You can use any combination of the supported devices mentioned above.
  • Roles: Camerito works with two device roles: 🎥 Camera (stays in the room, records footage) and 📱 Viewer (connects remotely to Cameras, reviews Events,...). All supported devices can function as either Camera or Viewer, but not simultaneously.
